After a while

I met some of my friends at the Green Note (where they always make you feel at home), where we listened to some English musicians who met in Nashville.

Midnight Poem

After knowing Katie for a while and only hearing her sing in her car, I have finally heard her sing live.

It is about as much as

my shoulder's can take these days. I can just about carry the most essential equipment to the closest venue to me, and take a few photographs.

On my way

back home from South Bank university, where I did a bit of photography work,

I stumbled across some London wildlife.

A day trip to Margate

where I got quite a few nice pics, and while there I also went to see the Turner gallery where I saw the exhibition ARP The Poetry of Forms (one for my friend Jaka), a few Turner's paintings (I do love them) and Tracy Emin's bed (for all of those who thought I went for a day trip to the seaside and just end up photographing beds).

First I saw

Siv Jakobsen at my local Rough Trade

and then I went to the Monarch in Camden where I saw the Scarletinas (well this is obviously just the singer)

The Shakers

and Gaygirl

Spent the afternoon

strolling around Tate Modern, looking at a few of the current exhibitions

and in the evening I went to the concert of Hladno pivo, which was strange as I was in a concert hall in the middle of London, but everyone spoke one of the former Yugoslav languages.

Wednesday, 11 October 2017

Started the afternoon

with the Origami dance performance (by Satchie Noro & Silvain Ohl) on a huge foldable container parked outside the Battersea Power Plant (so there was a nice backdrop to it, but not seen on this photo)

and followed it by Adam K's Unholly Trinity

The Crossmakers

Tom Bright

and The Purple Lights, all in the evening, at the Monarch.

My regular haunt

 with the Mannequin Death Squad

Chita

and the Teenagers (now they will look daft if they will be touring in 40 years time with a name like that)

Brett Newski

on his last day of the European tour, just before heading off back to the States.

Jibba Jabba in their hometown (I have no idea where they were off to the next day)

The energetic

(and smiling) frontwoman from Gabi Garbutt & the Illuminations

(and not smiling) frontman from Bless.

If I were a paparazzi style photographer

I guess today would be remembered as the day I bumped into the smiling Rod Stewart and his wife somewhere in Mayfair (close to the house with Jimi Hendrix's and Handel's blue plaques), but as I am not it will be remembered for Omni's concert in Rough Trade

and the wonderful evening at the Monarch entitled Charlotte Campbell presents the Songwriters'circle
in which four female buskers from London (well busking in London)

presented their very different

takes on life.

If you rush around

a lot, taking photographs, one day they will hold a festival in your street, just so you do not need to travel far to take photographs.

(The Bethia Beadman Band)
They will give you films (no, I didn't take any photos of them - even though now, come to think of it, I could have), they will give you music,

  (Soulmaze)

 (Mudlow)

(Wills Morgan)
 they will give you poetry,

they will give you a community and deck chairs to rest your tired bones,

 (Katmandino)
and when the night falls, they will take you indoors

 (The Hardway)
and give you more music

 (Creole Moon)

(Creole Moon)
until you have had enough and you walk up your street, and go to sleep under the shining moon.
