Presentation of JSKD's summer dance workshops

First there was a performance amongst the people.

Followed by a presentation of each individual workshop so we could see what they were doing in each one of them over the week.

Ghosts (not mine, and not those of the 14th*, but those of Farič)

40 years of his work in dance

so I guess Matjaž deserves two photos from his performance to be published on this blog.

*For those wondering who are the ghosts of the 14th, they are from a poem of mine that is dedicated to the victims and survivors of the Grenfell Tower disaster. Here is a link (10) Ghosts of the 14th - YouTube

Another day of 4Ukrep

Started off in Prulček with the dance performance Vulneri,

continued with a short series of short dance films and a short discussion afterwards.

and ended with an outdoor performance (Verpete), which mainly took place in the dark
(but did you notice a similarity with the first performance?)

Powered by Emotion

The title made me think it would be an emotionally charged performance, but the true emotion from the title followed during the discussion after the performance.

Unfolded moments

One of those shows my camera is just not good enough. When on silent mode it is extremely restricted and one just doesn't want to make a lot of clicks with the audience present.
(So if patrons of the arts still exist (and if you are willing to call my work art), this is your time to shine)

Hurry-Scurry, Stay in Line

It seems I have seen so many dance performances by now that I actually had some ideas as to what I would add. Of course, as did was the dress rehearsal the evening before the opening night, I kept them to myself.

One cannot help but think and feel

It is strange to see somebody dancing when you know that his hometown is being rocketed every so often. But I guess this really shows that whatever is happening in the world, no matter how strange or terrible, life goes on (for the lucky ones).

When the Bleeding Stops

The Icelandic dancer Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir realised that dancing helps overcome certain problems women experience with the menopause.

So she invited women going through menopause to join her in dancing.

In the end, everyone was invited to dance on stage. It was a good night.

Choreohraphic Turn #9: To Operate Together

Presentation of the research we were all involved in last week. It is so good to be a part of a team for days in a row.

Time dances

Seen this performance quite a few times, but it is always different, and never boring.
