T'hommage

A hommage to a great person by great people.
And when Samo and Ana played on objects from Tomaž's cellar you could just hear the air being sucked out from the lungs of everyone present.

Tuesday 22 December 2015

A little bit

of dance first,

and then off to support Sebastian at his first ever stand-up.

Monday 21 December 2015

Today

I took only a few photos,  all of them of this bag. You might think this is kind of weird for me, as I usually don't do fashion accessories, but in reality it was a photo for a theatre programme (so it might all make sense now).

Ebony bones

and the drummer
(One rarely gets the chance to come so close to the drummer during a concert (photo taken with a fixed 50mm lens)

Thursday 17 December 2015

Adding

the finishing touches minutes before the opening.
And at the end of the first night, quite a few artworks were sold.

Friday 11 December 2015

I was glad

that the conference also included a bit of a cultural programme (as that keeps me out of mischief)...
In the evening I had to rush to the exhibition I learnt just moments (you know, figuratively speaking) before that I am also a part of.

Thursday 10 December 2015

It is weird

that we need to be carrying the same sign around the world for over half a century. One would think that people would have learnt this lesson by now and we could have moved on to better things...
(for instance a concert, just as I went after the demonstrations)

Sunday 6 December 2015

Luckily

it is impossible to get addicted to mobiles, selfies, snapchat, twitter, facebook and all the rest...

Saturday 5 December 2015

Another evening

with a couple of bands. The first still need a bit of practice
but the second was great fun
and had some devoted fans who came from another country to listen to them.

Friday 4 December 2015

Unfortunately

all great things come to an end, and this year's CoFestival is over for me. I missed a lot of it at the beginning, but I am sure I will see a few more performances soon...

Thursday 3 December 2015

Trying to catch up

for the temps perdu when I was at home in bed, alone with my fever. So first I went to see Igor Koruga's Expose, which I watched twice... first while taking photos during rehearsals, then just sitting back and enjoing it for the second time during the performance...
After that I sat on my bike and cycled through the Ljubljana fog (in which even Sherlock Holmes would get lost) to Irena's exhibition
After which we all went next door to see a couple of bands (well some of us went in, others decided to stand in the cold and see if they can produce more fog)

By the time I got to another concert, to the final venue of the night (but once again more or less just next door), I was a bit tired so I listened to a few songs and then decided to call it a night and head back to bed (this time without a fever).

Wednesday 2 December 2015

Andrew Morrish

from his light and playful step
to his intense moves....
It all happens while listening to his highly entertaining stories.

A play on dementia

Went to photograph a rehearsal of a play on dementia this evening. When I photograph plays, my brain is usually turned off, or at least works at a very limited capacity as I follow the play with my heart, intuition or feelings (who would know what to call it). And this time I experienced it all while photographing: from laughing (and thinking, yes, I lived through this situation) to the very dark and gloomy feeling that comes towards the end.

Saturday 21 November 2015

This photo

taken during a performance for children, took me back to my childhood, to the summers I spent under a tent and all the exciting things this brought with it.

Friday 20 November 2015

A whole afternoon

 of dance.
And I like these two successive photographs.
(and some others,  but I can't chuck them all in my blog...)

Thursday 19 November 2015

I can't believe

my card was producing error messages throughout the first performance... Luckily, I managed to get a spare one off a fellow photographer for the second (Thank you, thank you, thank you). Even though one of the girls from the first one told me already before the performance I should really come in a few weeks time I was dead (and I mean my heart skipped a few beats and stopped for a few seconds only to burst into excessively fast and strong beats once again ) nervous because I was there and I couldn't take photos (and I wasn't even working, it was more like let's go and take a look at this and take a few photos while I am there; and it really bothered me because I really, really have at least one spare card with me 99.3% of the time - but of course not this time). Anyway, all's well that ends well, and I will take some photos of Bitnamuun soon and I already put two spare cards in my photo bag.

Wednesday 18 November 2015

Standing frozen in time

staring my dark side straight into the eyes, I can feel a slight irregular palpitation in my chest and for a second or so my brain urges me to flee. But no, there is no way I will run. I will stare it out and force the dark side to run away.

Tuesday 17 November 2015

I have seen

this exhibition three times before the actual opening, in different stages of readiness... but now it is finally open and there was quite a crowd.

Monday 16 November 2015

A fun concert

but it started a bit late for a Monday (not that far from the wrong side of midnight) and I am a working man a slave of this very weird and unjust system (after all), so I walked out in the middle of the first (were there more?) encore and cycled into the night mist.

Thursday 12 November 2015

A long evening

It all started with exhibition No. 1
followed by exhibition No. 2 (at a different venue)
Band No. 1 (that I saw, it was really band No. 2 of the evening, but I missed the first one)
Band No. 2 of the evening (my favourite of the night)
And after this I hopped on my bike and cycled to the third venue of the evening to see
band No. 3 of the evening.
