 Started off with the exhibition again

and slowly moved on to a performance.

started with a morning meeting

followed by an early evening exhibition (which included people as artefacts) 

and performances

and followed by the evening performance

 

during which we all relaxed.

A fun opening, with some interesting artwork, in a technique that does not reproduce well on normal photographs, so you will just have to go and see it for yourself.

A gallery walkabout

 

Today a couple of my friends and I ventured on a gallery expedition. First we visited Klavdij Sluban's photographic exhibition in Gallery Jakopič.

 Then we ventured to Cankarjev dom to see Maria Lassnig's drawings and paintings.

When we continued on our way to the third gallery we came across a friendly dinosaur. 

After seeing the third exhibition of the day, we decided to have some lunch, so we ended our expedition.

On my way home from a paid photogig I stumbled across an exhibition opening (The photos from the paid photogig are not here as that was a day before (i.e. before midnight, and I stumbled upon this opening/party at around half past midnight. It was good to meet some friends and unwind a bit, but of course, I had to take a few photos, so here is one from the exhibition opening. As for the artefact, I know we sometimes want to have this at hand, but so far this man with a cam has managed to avoid it. 

From afternoon to evening

Started the afternoon off with a wonderful performance Silver Gold in Stara Pošta,

and then joined my friend from a long time ago, who has moved back from New York and held an exhibition and concert in Ljubljana.

Elephant in the room

 

as galleries are still (fairly) empty, anybody who enters is the elephant in the room, this time it was the artist of the exhibition himself.

The times we live in.... 
 

Camera and War exhibition

 People are strange. At the moment we are trying desperately hard to prevent people dying from Covid-19, and at the same time there are people dying around the world as a result of random (and not so random) violence. We need to get our act together and realise that every life    

is worth living and should not be ended prematurely.  

A day of Glej and Action for Culture

Started the photography part of the day with a lunchtime session with the Glej people... (or at least the ones that were not too busy working :) ) 

Then run to the Action for culture protests just to tell the world that we need to change this world before we all end up bodies outlined in chalk.

and then rushed to a tea-time opening of the Glej designers. 

It was snowing today

so we went driving in the snow to Kranj to see a couple of exhibitions. First we walked through Doroteja Dolinšek's exhibition in Stolp Škrlovec

and then we went to see Radharani Pernačič's exhibition in Layerjeva hiša, which was the one we originally planed to visit .

and in the general lack of photographing performances, visiting the Performer and Participant exhibition 

Walked down to the river

 to the Tate Exchange at Tate Modern, to see what they are up to and say hello to a few peeps. 

This week's Who are we? focuses on refugee and migrant art. 

Of course while I was there, I had to look at the Slovene living room, with the chairs they designed together with a refugee currently living in Slovenia. 

My major disappointment at the show was that I discovered that the UK pen-pushers refused entry visas to two refugees currently living in Slovenia, who the Slovene team wanted to bring along so they could participate at a show dealing with refugees in one of UK's main art institutions (what is all that about?)

The part of Gian Carlo Menotti's opera The Consul that was performed in the space slotted in nicely with the whole visa issue and indicated to the despair and insanity this can lead to.  

 Once we were chucked out of Tate I was invited to go to Danielle Arnauld's gallery to see Eva Sajovic's Unearthing Elephant exhibition, where I met some nice people

 heard an interesting piece with a bit of spoken word/poetry (always love that, me) thrown in 

and saw these pieces which made me think that Eva should get in touch with Enya, as they are both Slovenes living in London, but more importantly, they have both recently focused on the space between two strangers in works they recently created.
