Another one

of them (way too many things in a single day)
First I went to see what the young actors and directors are up to at the academy.

It is kind of like a sneak preview of what is going to come in years to come. The first show seemed a great exercise for the actors, not quite as thrilling for the public – but hey, I did invade their learning grounds, so that’s the way it should be really. After this show I rushed to

The march in support of the student radio. Of course, they were well behind schedule, so they were not where we (me and a few of the performers) were. But it gave me a bit of time to chat and not much before I was about to go the people arrived to the square. I said a quick 'Hi', took a photograph of a banner and went back to the academy to see the second play of the afternoon.

Which was definitely the Addams family...

...played to a live performance of Shostakovich (the rest of the band was hiding on some scaffolding).
So, guess where I went after this performance? Yes, you guessed. Back to the march in support of the student radio. When I arrived the concert part was in full swing…

after this I really wanted to go to see another play at the academy (I was really into it by this stage), but I promised this guy
I would come and see his concert, so I went there instead. At this concert I witnessed a weird combination of some songs from the times when my dad used to play in this band, some new songs some new lyrics on top of old music - a right kerfuffle one could say... After all of this I treated myself to a beer and went home.

Night 2

of working on the set. Still director of photography, had more to do than the first night, but as I now have a better idea as to what is going on, I still had time to take a few photos. So here is the main actor in action.

New challenges

It seems that the time has come for me to try something new again. This time I have been asked to be the director of photography (I know, it sounds way too pompous for me, so if you will ask me about it when you bump in to me, I will just say I helped out a bit) for a short film that will be a part of a performance (very soon). On our first night we only did a couple of static shots so I had time to slowly discover what it is all about. Of course, I didn't get to take any photos of the action but took a few behind the scene ones, so here is one of the director talking with the actor.

Continuing

with the multiple event evenings. But this time I am back to my normal form and I will post a single photo from the second performance - just to keep you on your toes.

One of those days

when too many things took place... so I decided to post a gazzillion ( no more and no less) photos for a change.
First was the opening of the Berlin collective (these were the four that came to the opening):
and here are a few of their works:

and here is the artist playing gallery footie with his work:
After that (or maybe rather in between) we all went to see a performance next door:
it was a sort of combination of a play and what we were told was a butoh dance
and then we had some time to kill before the concert started. So we went to a couple artist studios just across the yard.
Just one quick photo from there, you know, what happens in an artist studio stays in an artist studio.
and to finish it all off we went back across the yard for the concert. And as there are so many photos today, I might just as well post a few from the concert instead of the usual one.
The drummer
 the chaos
and one of the band members singing (they were constantly switching roles, so it is hard to say what else she did)
... and then I just went home to bed.

A rare

opportunity to see this guy perform (unless you build a time machine and travel back in time).

City of women

saw three totally different performances in one night (just managed to catch the end of the city of women festival). One was just terrible (and this is a word that I find hard to stutter – at least in relation to other people’s creative attempts), one had technical difficulties, but the performer managed to save the show (I would still like to see the show as it was intended) and the photo is from the third one, which was my favourite of the night.
