Happy new year

Remember you are entering at your own risk.

and remember to continue looking ahead, even if an obstacle pops up in front of you. (Oh, and if you find yourself in front of a body of water, just cross it).
(and these are more or less the only photos I took on the last day of the year).

Excellent timing

Luckily, Hamlet Express decided to have a break just in time for us to go out and start the fire.
(it was mighty cold out there, so we sure needed it)

It was bloody freezing

(actually, well below freezing) as I was taking photographs of two street performances.
Fittingly the first performance was the little match girl, and I am sure I did not suffer the cold half as much as the little match girl did...
while the second performance was entitled memories, obviously memories of a warmer, but more deadly time.

Sometimes things

are not quite what they seem
and a play turns out to be a board game with cute girls who tend to kill of their friends.

For some strange reason

it all revolved around this man, when in fact
it should all be revolving around these.
So no wonder I ended up at a completely different after party (uff this December is killing me).

First you see him and his brother

(and many others) play at a charity concert raising funds to fight Ebola, and then you see them
both jammin' in the bar next door.

What if we stop talking to each other face to face

and just start using text boxes on our computers and smart phones?
Well, after considering that at the exhibition I had to go to Damir's concert, because I knew he has got some of the answers this society is looking for.

It is December

and we all feel and look a bit like this. After leaving the clown cabaret, I dropped in at Bikofe, which is sadly closing down, but they are having a sort of happy, one could say celebratory wake (and they deserve to be happy with what they have done over the years and don't deserve to be closed down) with a whole month of events. This night saw the last exhibition in Bikofe, ever.
And here is Vuk, one of the rare neighbours who not only did not oppose Bikofe in the neighbourhood, but was a regular patron of the place and will miss the place terribly.

Haven't been

to a concert in Klub CD for a long time. And I have no idea why.
Andrea had her first concert in Ljubljana (if I understand correctly) in the house I used to live in (unfortunately when I have already moved out from there) and I imagine it must have been an even better atmosphere in someone's living room.
And she and her band were followed by Limousine, which fittingly took you for a comfortable drive into the slightly unknown with views of things you recognise along the roadside.

You know how The Specials' song goes

I go out on Friday night and I come home on Saturday morning
Well, I am no quite up to that anymore, especially as it was a Saturday night. But I did manage to go to a dance performance where I played with my camera just a little bit and took a few photos where I tried to focus on a part of a move I would usually not focus on, just to see how that works out. And to be honest, I can't really decide, but I don't know whether it is just because I am so used to doing in a certain way or ... (But whatever the results it is good to experiment (or play as a friend of mine would say)). When I stepped out from the venue I looked at the exhibition (because what sort of a culture buff would I be if I just walked past it?) and for this shot decided not to focus on the exhibited works but on their positioning behind bars (which seemed rather fitting for the cultural revolution this place is going through).
After that I went to a concert (well I wanted to pop in and see another concert, but it was too expensive and organised by someone who once took 10 minutes to explain to me that there is no such thing as a free lunch when I wanted to get into a concert to take a few photos, even though she has proven to be more than willing - on more than one occasion - to use my photographs without even asking me for showing how fun her concerts were). But in the end everything turned out as it should. I had great fun at the concert I ended up at, and took a very portrait like photo of the singer (I mean one that does not necessarily look like it was taken in the middle of the concert).

After missing

all of the daylight due to work, I managed to sneak out to a concert.
First I listened to (and photographed, but of course) the Wild strings trio (and there sure were some wild strings in there, and yes, this is only one of the trio).
This was followed by DidiWa (I think my blog readers might recognise their singer from some of my previous posts, where she plays in a totally different band) who just published a brand new record.
The concert and record launch was also accompanied by an exhibition of works by Irena Kazazić (with a series of portraits of the band members).
And she was totally mesmerised by the concert.

I couldn't

even go for a beer with my friends without taking my small camera and taking a few photos.
