Realigments

It is impossible to explain how much I miss cultural and art events at the moment, and how great it is to actually get the opportunity to see something emerging...

My good friend

Mankica is having an opening of her outdoor exhibition and nobody is allowed to come to it. But do walk down Vegova and have a look at her exhibition, after all she is sending hearts to you all...

These days

art can be presented only to individuals, and even this can only be done outdoors. This photo was taken during a location based FM walk in Tivoli. We walked through the park, in the relative darkness, listening to the sounds created and recorded by Boštjan Perovšek.

Two dance solos in one day (almost like in the good old times)

First, I went to see Nicole dance to Emil's music for the short dance film they are making. As they were filming it I only saw one part of it (but many times) and heard the same part of the track over and over again (but I will see the whole thing one day soon).

After a quick drink with the crew, I rushed to PTL to see Ana rehearse her first dance solo, and I took a few photos there too... (aren't I the lucky one)

The opening of Henri Cartier-Bresson's exhibition

without actually getting inside the gallery to see the 102 portraits, as these new Covid conditions meant that only a certain number of people could stroll through the gallery at any moment in time, and I didn't fancy queuing up for ages, when I could spend the time chatting to people and (uncharacteristic for me) drinking wine... The portraits await another day, preferably a morning during the week, when the gallery will be reserved for a very private viewing. But, during the opening ceremony we heards a few speeches as well as a few songs that were originally sung be Edith Piaf (who's portrait is, I am told, also to be seen in this exhibition).

Station Selbstsein revisited

decided to revisit Klemen's rehearsal today, as I was certain there was a photo I need to take still out there... I wonder if this is the one...

Ignor 35

Dejan had ended his 14 day quarantine

Miha delivered his latest thoughts on the current situation

people sat and listened in silence

to people reading poetry from notebooks

and mobiles

people creating some noise

and once again reading, this time from books

and pieces of paper

and people sampling poetry

and people reading some more

and a bit more as the night fell

ending with poetry in a Scandinavian language

and some poetry set to music.

This performance

 Made it all come back...

They performance is about six unaccompanied refugee children that they tried to house somewhere in Slovenia and make it possible for them to live a 'normal' life (however close to normal a life can be of a child that has found himself in a different country, without his or her parents, where he/she doesn't know anybody, not a word of the language, and where people clearly despise him/her just because he/she wasn't born in that country), you know, like go to school and stuff...

Of course, when the Slovene parents heard about this they were outraged and terrified that these six refugee children would boil their children or even worse, eat them alive;

so they started writing petitions, making it impossible for them to live anywhere worth living as they were way to dangerous for this small little country.

and it all culminated in a tractor and pitchfork rally in which people screamed and shouted that they don't want no foreigners in this land, that this land is for them and them only, that other people don't deserve to live...

Soon after that I sat in my trusty old Volvo and drove a thousand miles away, on an exploratory trip to London, which went horribly wrong (as things in life do, but that's another story)...

Day 2 of Ukrep festival

and I went to see Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi's performance 1.7, which was a rather relaxed presentation (in the way it was delivered) of some heavy themes.

Outdoors/indoors

First I went to see the two tourists performing again (the performance the day before had a rain break in it and also the square did not have any barriers, but today they were already for the protests later on and I had to go and see what difference does a closed off public space make to this performance)

and then went to see the first post-corona performance from abroad (which was a performance for a dancer and 22 chairs)

A day of outdoor activities

following the performance Duality around the centre of Ljubljana (getting caught by the rain, thrown out of the shop for doing an impromptu performance in the shop)

and then going to a few indoor performances, the first being For the Health of the Nation

followed by TRANS-plant (and didn't we all talk with plants during lockdown).

Rhizosphere

by Luka Prinčič

in a full greenhouse in Tivoli.

Listeners closed their eyes, letting the sounds flow through them.

It has been a long time since I last took photos of a concert on Krk

This time I saw Don Demižon & Ego3pizze

 Eni i Vjeko Band

Buco i Kalašnjikovi.

Hopefully I will see many more in the future and might even pop to Rijeka while it is the European Capital of Culture (somebody get me a photo pass, please).
