without actually getting inside the gallery to see the 102 portraits, as these new Covid conditions meant that only a certain number of people could stroll through the gallery at any moment in time, and I didn't fancy queuing up for ages, when I could spend the time chatting to people and (uncharacteristic for me) drinking wine... The portraits await another day, preferably a morning during the week, when the gallery will be reserved for a very private viewing. But, during the opening ceremony we heards a few speeches as well as a few songs that were originally sung be Edith Piaf (who's portrait is, I am told, also to be seen in this exhibition).

Observing

As I was at a portrait exhibition

I though I might as well take a quick snapshot of a photographer who has got more awards than you can stuff in your pockets (and run away with) and one of his portraits in the background.

We have

totally different styles, but this is about as close as I got to his jazzy fluidity yesterday.

I spoke to at the opening said: 'Andy is the nicest bloke you could ever meet.' (and let me tell you they are quite on the ball there)
I think that is one of the best recommendations for him to get a photo from his opening posted on my blog.

I seem to be

a rather regular feature at exhibition openings lately.   

It is good

to look around every now and then and try to see what you can do for someone else, and it is always nice to hang out with people who genuinely want to help others. This time Joana came up with the idea for a humanitarian photo exhibition 

 (you can still go and buy a photo or support the cause with a donation), which meant that I could also participate in a small way.

And as all good deeds are repaid in one way or another, I immediately got the opportunity to go to a theatre and take a few photos of people singing.

First exhibition

of the year. It was an outside one, and one I have seen already (as it is one they resurrect every now and then). It  is also conveniently located in what is one of my favourite venues (outdoors, in a park), unfortunately as it is a pick-and-mix exhibition of various authors it has got quite a few that just make you hate the fact that somebody once wrote a piece of software called photoshop that is way too often used to create photographs that make you eyes bleed and millions of small pieces of shrapnel travel through your brain at the speed of light.

Not poor

is the title of this photographic exhibition of photographs from Africa. I guess it is all in the perspective.

Of course

we all took loads of photos at the opening of this photographic exhibition.
And afterwards we returned to Ljubljana for a drink and stumbled on a blues concert.
