It was my second Christmas

at the sea (ever), and no, I didn't go for a dip...
Merry Christmas everyone

The relaxing Sunday

After going up the hill (as one is supposed to do on a Sunday in Slovenia) and coming back down (which is optional), the evening (it comes so early these days) started with a dance performance
and was followed by a concert at which I preferred the opening act (which happens sometimes).

Back to the promised land

I guess I would have gone ages ago if only I didn't have something in my brain that ties me down and prevents me from doing things that have even the slightest chance of making me happy (with the exception of photography, which somehow managed to climb its way over the barriers, through the obstacles and leap across the deep abysses just so I could find myself in places that make me happy).

I spent

the first part of the evening listening to the rules of the game, and the second part of the evening completely ignoring the set rules.

One of the people

(of the many - luckily) who are trying to fix the unbelievably ghastly job our government (and the broader way-to-greedy economic system) is doing in protecting the ever increasing masses of the poor who can not afford to pay even such essentials as heating or rent.
Well, all I can say is screw the system (sorry to be rude here, but drastic times deserve drastic measures) and big thumbs up and a standing ovation (not nearly strong enough phrase, but I can't think of a better one at the moment I am writing this - probably because my mind is spinning around all the injustices surrounding us all) to all people who are unselfishly trying to do some good in this world (which is not improving due to humanity but getting worse because of  our species).

Unfortunately

all the people I arrived with went home before the concert started (but there were some others there).

Last night

I went to Wuthering Heights (and back), Casablanca, Paris and Transylvania. I guess if one daydreams throughout the day, sleeping at night is a waste of time.

I saw two

experimental performances one after the other, and yet I was told at the first experimental performance that these are a rarity in Ljubljana (Mel, you should have come with)

She said she wants it darker...

He wanders off stage, through the theatre doors, into the streets where nothing looks familiar, everything is slightly distorted and dark... he continues walking until he reaches the outskirts of the town...It is still all unrecognisable, so he continues on his gruesome walk, walking out of the country, walking across barren land, the smell of blood oozing from the dry soil... After weeks of walking he reaches the sea. He pauses for a moment, takes a few deep breaths and steps into the sea... He walks straight into a strange world, a dark combination of Alice in Wonderland and Dexter...

One of those performances

which, if it really got to you, it probably means you are screwed.
(guess who thought he would fit perfectly into the performance)

It is good

to peek from your special hiding place every now and then.
(Unfortunately I only do it once every few years)

As I was at a portrait exhibition

I though I might as well take a quick snapshot of a photographer who has got more awards than you can stuff in your pockets (and run away with) and one of his portraits in the background.

They just returned

from their German tour and they seem rather happy, even though they had to translate their performance into Slovene.

The exterior

of one of the fanciest hotels in former Yugoslavia,
and the interior, one of its many hallways.

My first experience

of olive picking, no time for taking photographs, there are tons of them out there.

Before it closed

I had to go to the exhibition once more, just to check if love can really be that simple (who knows, I might get smitten by amour simple one of these days).

The space

always seems to be bursting at the seems with great energy whenever I see this band.
and the bass player seems to like this photo (which surely can't be bad).
