Monday night

seems to be Mau Mau night (well at least every now and then). This time I listened to Tony Andrews

Katmandino

and Whalls (obviously this is just their guitar player, but with his saintly look on the night he deserved to be singled out)

Luckily

I managed to catch the last act at Acklam Village, Cristina Lull, on this lazy Saturday afternoon.

Childhood

I might not have spent my childhood* at Rough Trade (but I was lucky enough to be taken to a few concerts then), but I am sure spending my whatever this age is there.

*If you are wondering how all of this ties in, Childhood was the name of the band I saw at Rough Trade on this evening.

The guitar player

from the Proletariat giving me the evil eye

the guitar player from Breed performing a floor solo

the guitar player from BlackWaters picked up where the guitar player from Breed left it and took it a step (nosedive) further

while the guitar player from Trampolene decided there was not much more he could do in the floor solo department, so he left the stage and joined the crowd (on multiple occasions).

When your body

doesn't allow you to swim a day on the coast can be just walking down the sandy beach for miles

and visiting a few exhibitions at the Turner Contemporary in Margate.

It was good

to get work as a dance photographer after a while, this time a different type of dance, in a different country (yet for the time being still a part of the EU)

but after that I had to rush across London (yes, I had to cross the Thames) to the beloved and dinky Green Note in Camden to see the Girls to the Front concert. Unfortunately I missed the first three acts, but I caught the following three (Lucas and the King - I have no idea whether she is Lucas or the King - I should have asked really).

Danii Nicholls

and of course the birthday girl from the Playing house.

Friday

It all started with coffee in this year's Serpentine Pavilion (designed by Francis Kéré)

which was followed by a visit to the Serpentine Gallery (showing Grayson Parry's The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever!)

and the Serpentine Sackler Gallery (showing Arthur Jafa's A Series of Utterly Improbable yet Extraordinary Renditions).

Following a walk through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens (and lunch) I caught an early concert in the Rough Trade in Brick Lane (where I saw Hanni El Khatib) after which I swiftly boarded the tube to Camden where I went to see three bands at The Monarch.

Factory

 Leontas

Mellor.

After all this I thought I might as well go home, so I jumped on the bus back home. Good night everyone.

The Stodart brother/sister act

had a night at the Green Note again, and as they like to share the fun with others whey invited a few of their friends to join them on stage. This evening they invited:

 Gabriel Moreno

 Penelope Isles

  David Ford
