Not only

did the migrants make the carnival, they also made what we consider the developed western world.
If we want to have a clearer perspective of the world, we will have to face the fact that we are all migrants, for people have been on the move from the moment that geezer in Africa stood up and said: 'Hey look at me, I am standing on two feet,' and strolled into the sunset in search of a better life.

However, if this theory doesn't work for you, then just try to wrap your head around the fact that these people (pretty much like you and me) have found themselves in a terrible situation (bad enough to leave everything they have and know behind) and instead of us trying to make it easier for them we are only making it harder.

Street party

for those with energy (and feeling slightly sexy)

and those who are a bit tired, because let's face it, they had to have their morning coffee, and if that isn't exhausting I don't know what is.

We all want

to leave some traces behind

and most of us hope they will not be washed away with the next tide.

Sadly

this is to be my last visit to Move your hands and the Mau Mau bar for a while. But I will be back, because I had a really great time here. Thanx for making me feel at home.

The young band

from Nottingham. During their performance the guitarist's string broke and he realised he left his strings in the car, but luckily someone from the store pulled a gold fender from under the stage, took it out of its box and gave it to the guitarist.
And the rock'n'roll went on...

Taking a break

from live music and going to see a bit of fine artwork at Tate Britain. Unfortunately I was not allowed to photograph Barbara Hepworth, which I originally went to see, but I could take some photos of Moore and Turner.
(I am still dying to photograph some performances or theatre in London though)

Today

I cycled to the Rough Trade gig in Brick Lane on my new bike (which doesn't really tell you anything about the band, but tells you I am enjoying myself in London).

Sunday, 16 August 2015

This time

I went to the original Rough trade for an in-store concert, and it is a much smaller store and unfortunately a much smaller crowd.

Absolutely everybody

I spoke to at the opening said: 'Andy is the nicest bloke you could ever meet.' (and let me tell you they are quite on the ball there)
I think that is one of the best recommendations for him to get a photo from his opening posted on my blog.

My first visit

to the Tate Modern, and it was packed (not that you can see it on this photo, but I didn't want to take photos of loads of people looking at art - but it is good to see that people still like art).
