Sometimes
things do not go quite as planned... I rushed from a picnic to a performance, with the idea that I will take a few photos ... and guess what... they didn't let me... so this time I just watched the performance and thought 'it's a pity, because it is photogenic'... but you can't win them all, so I just sat back and enjoyed the performance... and all I can show you is this: my ticket on a poster... and I played with it a bit (my camera does not take pictures like this)...

Feel Good Inc.
was the song that came to my mind after this performance. It is a performance that slowly (but surely - as these things go) crept away from the performance and turned into socialising with the rest of the audience... At some point nobody was even following the performance on stage (but I am sure it was intended this way, even though it sounds a bit strange for a theatre performance)... and in the end you feel that the people sitting around you are you friends and you have known them forever... a good trick that :)

I always knew
he would make it big time. It was clear ever from the day in Paris, when he set his eyes on my back and chuckled. And yesterday I saw the true pro he is on stage, sipping red wine and chatting up the main actress.
For more photos from the performance go here.

Back to theatre photography
and don't I just love it (I will give you a hint here - yyyyyyyyyyyyy....). Festival time. Hope to see a few good plays, take one or two really good photos, meet some new people and get packed in a suitcase and smuggled across the border... OK, maybe I got a bit carried away with this last one... If I get the first three it will be just excellent.

What is this thing called love?
I just know I will get this one wrong... I might not even attempt answering it at this point in time... Wait!... No... For a moment, I thought I had the answer to the question on everyone's lips... But no, I am no smarter than the rest of you... but I will keep pondering, and maybe I will tell you a bit later... Until then, have a little think for yourself (it never hurt anybody - except all of us overthinkers obviously)...

Not often
do the police forces (let alone international) get a huge cheer. But then, I suppose it is not often they appear on stage and play. I think nobody was arrested, but given the choice I prefer police over interpol any day.
Hey, believe it or not, I took a few more photos at the concert, and you can see them here: Interpol and We can't sleep at night.
(just trying something new)

Uninspired
I was. And I am still a bit uninspired. My ideas for the text in this blog ranged from a few lines of the Helter Sklelter from The Beatles (You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer (modifying it by adding no singer somewhere into the text) - but I decided it was too mean, so I ditched that idea. Then I wanted to write something about how I thought singers usually attempt notes they have a fighting chance of actually hitting - but this seemed even worse, so I binned this idea. For a brief second I thought I would write something along the lines: There must be something seriously wrong if I do not feel inspired to take photos - either with me or with what is happening around me. And as we all know there is something wrong with me and I am still inspired to take photos, we must assume.... But I decided to totally ignore this idea and not even attempt to develop its full potential. In the end I decided to resort to fantasy land and tossed up the following:
Uninspired
I was, she said as she left the cold embrace
and climbed out of the sticky & sweaty naked bed
putting on her torn jeans and a black T-shirt
she stepped into the four am chilly November morning
walking slowly through the rain
her Chucks soaked through
even before she reached the end of the road
Awesome
he thought as he slowly climbed out of bed
and sat naked on the window ledge
he stared at the silhouette strolling down the street
tasting the salt on his lips
a long time after she was gone.

More picnic less concert
A picnic and a few bands playing. We arrived in the evening, more or less in time for the last band (after getting slightly lost on the way and asking joggers in the night to direct us to somewhere we did not know the name of ). Of course, as things go, when you get sent out to take photos for a magazine you get the worst lighting conditions. And you mess around, trying to do something. I truly was a bit lost for ideas yesterday, so I spent quite a lot of time thinking what to do and forgot to concentrate on the concert... but then I started listening a bit closer to the music and decided that it does not really demand a charp and clear photo, because it would just give you the wrong impression of the music, so I decided to post this one on my blog, even though I doubt they will choose this one for the magazine...

Following
a day off (totally unexpected, but I didn't feel well, so I slept through the afternoon and the evening, which left me no time to take photos) I felt better the next day (was it really just lack of sleep?) which resulted in numerous photo opportunities. In the end I decided to post this one of the singer of the French band Les Skalopes, who seemed quite pleased with their show, and I thought it also reflects how I felt about the day...

Guess who?
Nope. It is not Freddie. Once again it is the liveliest drummer in the country, only this time at a different venue and in a different band. But, I have absolutely no idea why was this the shortest concert ever... The entire concert could hardly constitute as foreplay, and there would definetly be no time for an ice popsicle...

Scouting
for a new location for my get me out of here project... As I was already there I thought I would do a small joke photo - and here it is ... It is just playing around with various ideas so that my mind does not get bored and that it does not doze off suddenly while I am standing in the middle of the tracks... I am almost entirely certain it will have nothing to do with the main project, it is just a bit of fun as we go along... and to keep all of your on your toes :)
